Congratulations from Disabled Peoples International to the Republic of Guinea for ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on 1 November 2007. Congratulations also to Vietnam for signing the Convention on 22 October 2007.

Five Partners in Policymaking online courses are a creative, cost-effective way to complement and reinforce important disability concepts. Courses include:

- Partners in Education: Strategies for attaining the educational services students deserve.
- Making your Case: Advocacy towards create systemic change.
- Partners in Employment: Identifying personal interests and strengths and translating them into employment opportunities.
- Partners in Living: Obtaining appropriate housing and independent living services, family support, and assistive technology
Research shows that incorporating online learning into classroom agendas, training assignments and skill-building activities helps to create richer, more effective learning experiences for everyone involved.

Autism Key, a support website for parents of children with autism and autism spectrum disorders, has announced the addition of a video sharing feature to its website. The online video community will allow users to upload, watch and exchange videos addressing the subject of autism.

Free On-Line Resources on Post Secondary Education
A transition planning guide from high school to university is now available for students with disabilities, their families, educators, and other professionals. Other resources include videos on success stories of persons with disabilities who have completed or are currently navigating the post secondary school system; and PowerPoint presentations. Call for Proposals
Some of the most profound changes in our world have come about as a result of struggles in the form of social movements. Often, these movements germinated in a handful of people who rose up against an entrenched injustice or for a pressing need, then blossomed into mass mobilizations that have ended up helping to bring rights and freedoms to millions of people.
This is the power of movements: what people without access to power cannot accomplish alone, they can accomplish together through collective action.
From 14-17 November 2008 more than 1,500 women's rights activists from around the world will gather at a Conference in Cape Town, South Africa to debate and strategize about how to build stronger women's movements globally.
